After-School Homework Help

We understand that educational support extends beyond the classroom. Our program offers after-school homework help, creating a safe and nurturing environment where students receive personalized assistance. With the guidance of dedicated tutors and mentors, students build the skills and confidence necessary to excel academically and prepare for future challenges.

First-Generation College Prep and Entrance

Many students in our community are the first in their families to pursue higher education. Our program supports these first-generation college-bound students by:

Navigating the Application Process: We provide workshops and one-on-one counseling to demystify the college application process, ensuring students understand each step, from filling out forms to crafting compelling personal statements.

Preparing for Life Away from Home: We offer practical advice and emotional support to help students adjust to the transition of living away from home, ensuring they are ready to embrace this new chapter.

Parental Support and Guidance

Parents and guardians as well as extended family members play a crucial role in the student’s educational success. We equip Black Female Faith Leaders with the knowledge and tools to support them in this journey. Through regular workshops and resources, parents gain insights into the college application process, financial planning, and strategies for providing emotional support to their children.

Identifying Sources of Financial Support

Financial constraints should never be a barrier to higher education. Our program helps students and families identify and apply for financial aid, scholarships, and grants. We provide detailed information on available resources and offer hands-on support to ensure students can pursue their academic dreams without financial hindrance.

College Campus Visits

We organize visits that allow students to visit colleges and universities, providing them with a firsthand experience of college life.

During these visits, students:

Participate in Q&A sessions with admissions officers and administrators, helping them understand the admissions process and requirements.

Access to Presidents and Administrators at NY Community Colleges

We also facilitate connections between students and the presidents and administrators of New York community colleges. These interactions provide valuable insights into local higher education options and foster connections that support students throughout their educational journeys.
